Yesterday, Rich, Andy and I went down to Bike Works for a volunteer orientation and I ended up staying all night to hang out with some cool people and “wrench” on some bikes. First, let me say that is an awesome operation! I’ve got to give special thanks to Davey Oil, that guy is THE MAN! If everybody else in that organization have as much heart as that guy, they’re doing some great things in the lives of many.

Anyway, I am just floored by the opportunity to get along side some friends in our community and share in the goodness of bicycles!! I honestly lost sleep last night thinking about all of the ways that Zapata Cycles can get involved in our community, by joining the efforts of organizations like Bike Works and by doing our own thing too.

So, what does everybody else think? Do you think we should donate time and/or parts and/or bikes to help make our community a better place? Should we go out and see how we can support The Bikery too? Or do you think I should lay off the Simple Green for a while?
